Key Responsibilities
  • Apply ISO/IEC 15288 systems engineering processes to water and utility infrastructure projects, from concept to disposal.
  • Lead or support system requirements definition, interface specification, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align system development with environmental, operational, and service objectives.
  • Develop and maintain key systems documentation, including systems engineering management plans (SEMP), verification and validation plans, and interface control documents.
  • Support integration of mechanical, electrical, control, and IT/OT systems into cohesive water infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes within the organisation.
  • Provide engineering input across capital delivery, asset renewal, and digital transformation initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering using the ISO/IEC 15288 framework or equivalent.
  • Experience working with infrastructure systems in water, utilities, or critical public assets.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Sparx EA, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of SCADA, OT/IT integration, or process control systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to sustainable engineering and long-term asset stewardship.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
